Pathway Summary

CONNECTING → GROWING → CARING → SHARING → (repeat as you disciple others!)

  • It begins with a connection to Christ and His people.
  • It deepens through growth in the Word and Spirit.
  • It expresses itself in caring through service.
  • It multiplies through sharing Christ and raising others up.

1. CONNECTING

To God and One Another
Salvation, Worship, and Belonging (This is the entry point and foundation of discipleship.)

  • Surrendering to Jesus (salvation & baptism)
  • Regular personal & corporate worship
  • Building relationships in community
  • Personal devotion and spiritual habits

Key Ministries: Worship services, baptism, guest follow-up, small groups (building relationships in community), first-time guest pathways, Discover FBC Class, Welcome events, family events, retreats


2. GROWING

To Be Mature Followers of Jesus
Spiritual formation and discipleship (This focuses on spiritual formation and biblical grounding.)

  • Studying Scripture and applying it
  • Practicing spiritual disciplines
  • Discover spiritual gifts
  • Engaging in accountability and group discipleship
  • Participating in intentional growth pathways (classes, groups, mentoring)

Key Ministries: Adult discipleship classes, youth/children’s ministry, Bible studies, prayer teams, mentoring, Bible reading plans


3. CARING

Through Missions and Ministry
Living out Christlike love and compassion (This phase helps believers serve others selflessly and discover their purpose.)

  • Serving within the church body
  • Use spiritual gifts
  • Meeting physical, emotional, and spiritual needs
  • Showing hospitality, mercy, and generosity
  • Participating in local outreach and care initiatives

Key Ministries: Deacons, care ministry, kitchen/hospitality, local missions, prayer ministry, service projects, serve in a ministry.


4. SHARING

Christ with the Community and the World
Multiplying disciples and living on mission (This is the multiplication and outreach phase.)

  • Personal evangelism and Gospel conversations
  • Share your testimony
  • Inviting others into community
  • Supporting or going on local & global missions
  • Training others to lead and disciple
  • Multiply

Key Ministries: Evangelism teams, mission trips, leadership development, student leadership, small group multiplication, one-to-one or one-to-three discipleship, community outreach events, Decision counseling ministry
